Sciatica

Sciatica refers to pain, tingling, or numbness that radiates along the sciatic nerve, which runs from the lower back down through the buttocks and into the legs. This condition occurs when the sciatic nerve is compressed or irritated. Sciatica can cause significant discomfort and affect daily activities, but chiropractic care offers a non-invasive and effective approach to managing this condition by addressing underlying spinal misalignments, reducing nerve pressure/ irritation, and promoting overall spinal health.

Symptoms:

  • Sharp or shooting pain that radiates from the lower back down through the buttocks and into one or both legs
  • Numbness or tingling sensations in the leg or foot
  • Muscle weakness or difficulty moving the affected leg or foot
  • Pain aggravated by sitting, standing, walking, or sudden movements
  • Pain that may worsen with coughing, sneezing, or straining
